Brian L 07-31-2008, 07:33 AM Great read... Thanks! RIROCKHOUND 07-31-2008, 07:36 AM I love that they had the cajones to fish for the BFT inside the pen; not overly sporting, but WTF at that point, right! Brother Brian 07-31-2008, 07:39 AM WOW. Forget the lottery, those guys are the luckiest folks on earth, not to mention pretty cool headed. Brian L 07-31-2008, 07:47 AM I love that they had the cajones to fish for the BFT inside the pen; not overly sporting, but WTF at that point, right! Best part of the story! I loved the pics with them and their fish. Sporting %$%$%$%$ eating grins with a bunch of tuna in the middle of an international incident. Can't say I wouldn't do the same thing...:jump1: dar3 07-31-2008, 08:06 AM Thanks for the awesome read They are very lucky that they were able to contact the coast guard. I can only imagine what it felt like to be back in there home port. Glad they made it out without any incidents. peace Dr3 striperman36 07-31-2008, 09:39 AM Thats totally scary, I haven't hit anything running at night yet, just a matter of time I guess. Circlehook 07-31-2008, 10:02 AM Like shooting fish in a barrel.... teezer 07-31-2008, 02:17 PM Maybe we should try fishing in the fishtraps off Newport???? Just kidding... Nebe 07-31-2008, 03:42 PM that guys insurance CO is going to get whacked with a mongo claim from that tuna co... damaged pen.. lost fish... etc.. not to mention damage to the boat.... spence 07-31-2008, 04:38 PM that guys insurance CO is going to get whacked with a mongo claim from that tuna co... damaged pen.. lost fish... etc.. not to mention damage to the boat.... Considering they were in international waters I would think the arbitration wouldn't be worth it, especially considering it was the Mexican Federalies who cut the net apart. Also, think that operation was completely above board? Perhaps they don't want anyone sniffing into their business. -spence Adam_777 07-31-2008, 05:25 PM Damn good read ! Crazy when the federally's pulled up with uzi's and deck mounted 30 cals . FishNH 07-31-2008, 06:03 PM what an adventure! jimmy z 07-31-2008, 06:12 PM Wow, that was some situation to be in. I'm glad it all worked out ok. The Iceman 6 07-31-2008, 06:25 PM a MUST READ stripersnipr 07-31-2008, 08:23 PM Radar is your friend if you use it. Crafty Angler 08-01-2008, 10:06 AM Man, just goes to prove my theory that a fool and what's left of the rest of his life will soon be parted :hs: Those guys don't realize how lucky they were on several fronts but adrenaline and testosterone can be a pretty intoxicating mixture, just ask someone who knows. Kurt Vonnegut once said that when he reached a certain age (as in old) he was as happy - and lucky - to have gotten off that mixture in one piece as he would have been to have gotten off a wild rodeo horse unscathed. I dunno, maybe given my personal history I guess I really shouldn't be throwing stones, though...:smokin: Jesus, I'm gonna go have another cup of coffee to see how I recoup from last nite's fishless castathon at my favorite UDL....I've got stuff to do...mumble mumble mumble....harumph...
