I have two jars of softex one unopened;the other half full - both have rigor mortis.
Is there any thinner I can use to breathe life back into these two jars.
I heard of toluene to bring it back to life, however I need some advice from the pro's.
tks, gents
:thanks:

I can't answer your question but I would suggest putting glass marbles into the jars of Softex, & head cemment, etc., as it is being used. This will eliminate the air [which causes the drying] in the containor.

tks, gents .........Yes,It's made with toluene. You won't be able to "fix" the cured parts. If you have a skin on top of the softex remove that and get a small bottle[1oz]to put a scoop of uncured into that bottle and add about 15 drops of toluene to start.stir SLOWLY with round glass or metal rod.keep the bottle as full as possible to eliminate oxygen. If you have access to nitrogen gas[heavier than oxygen]spray it in the larger jar and it won't dry out.I know what you're thinking...Why would I have friggin nitrogen? Some people use it to inflate their tires instead of regular air.
