My rod is 230cm (about 7.5 ft) long. It currently has 8 guides and someone told me I should add a ninth, why would I do that, and what would it change? I'm new to fishing, and any help is much appreciated.

View Full Version : What would adding an extra guide do to my rod? kiko755 02-07-2010, 07:52 PM My rod is 230cm (about 7.5 ft) long. If you add a ninth you'd almost certainly want to strip off the existing guides and re-space the rod the for nine. Unless this someone believes the stripper guide is too far from the reel. In that case the guide might be moved, but I still don't get the idea of adding a guide. Maybe someone knows better though. Saltheart 02-09-2010, 03:16 PM Not enough detail for an intelligent answer. A 7.5 foot rod with 8 guides...that sounds like plenty . vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
