Could it be EXPERIENCE?
could it be....they have better spots?

they tie better knots

just read this

"This could be a silver lining to aging and distraction," said Lynn Hasher of the Rotman Research Institute in Toronto, and senior scientist on the study. "Older adults with reduced attentional regulation seem to display greater knowledge (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35130479/ns/health-aging/#) of seemingly extraneous co-occurrences in the environment than younger adults."

what a line.... i love it. heh heh :grins:

Although experience speaks volumes, I don't think they're better at it. I do think they're more content cause they know its just a dam fish.

don't believe were better at it the younger guys are alot better.they can fish the heavy 10-11ft rods and bigger reels ,go down rocks and steep banks.they also listen and get a wealth of knowledge from old timers who have been there done that.i know in my case i'm just happy to be out there getting small but enjoying it .alot of younger guys say they wish they could fish every day like i do tides and weather aside.i tell them i'd rather be them you gotta be old to do what i do,take younger anytime.
