Does anyone that wants to go also have to be bitchy to qualify?

I've been trying to make it happen for a while so I'll check with the boss and see if it works.

I heard it helps catch fish though....of course you pick the week my boss is out of town and I'm in charge. Katie said I definitely qualify to go.

sounds good gents. no reservations needed just be at the boat around 4/4:30. i'll get there early and save some good spots. just touch base w/ me if you are going and i'll save you a spot.

Niko, I was thinking of taking Friday off and doing the same thing...

I've never been on a party boat, so let me ask a basic question for my benefit. What's a "good" spot on the deck?

FYI - Have someone check the water clarity. This past storm really had the ocean riled up. I know this affects the cod bite off shore. Water is very dirty here in Newport but might be clean by Friday.

jim - the bow and stern are the desirable spots.

Today's report (no luck o'the Irish):

March 17th
Capt Don at the helm today with a very small group of anglers. Still quite a bit of a ground swell today from the recent storm and the water was the color of coffee. Not a good day of fishing reports Capt. Don. The codfish just didn't bite, which is not unusual immediately after a big storm. Tomorrow is another day. Capt. Mike at the wheel tomorrow.

Will this be the 1st test of the new saltwater permits vs RI license? I've got the MA permit but launching out of RI on a NY comm head boat.
