Any first hand reports (or second or third or fourth) from S. Maine? Marty, you out there? I don't want specific places, but how's the beach fishing compared with last year? Anything doing in the Piscataquaw? I've read some reports but always good to hear from the guys out there. I fish from Piscataquaw to Kennebunk. I'm about to spend my annual 2 weeks and I'm very psyched. Can't wait to have some of my favorite foods too...scoop deck peanutbutter swirl....Crispy duck pad thai at the blue elephant...coco locos enchiladas in mole sauce.

So far so good on the beaches this year. Much better for me than last year but that also seems to be the general consensus. Very few small schoolies, most fish seem to be in the 2 to 3 foot range. Put in my time this June and I've been rewarded with a fair number of fish and one beautiful 42" all released but a few slots for dinner.

If your looking for some larger fish look to the rock piles and use some med to lg wood or live eels.

Wow Sea of Atlas, a 42"! That's rare off the beaches up there. Where I fish everybody would be talking about that for weeks. Nice. I'm going to try around the rocky shoreline more as well.

Certainly not the norm for me. Biggest striper I've ever caught. Wish I had a scale because it had a healthy girth. I would like to think it was 25 to 30lbs. Blurry pic:

If your out in a boat look for the macks. Get a couple then live line them deep. Sinker on bottom of rig. 3 ft of 60 lb flouro to a 3 way swivel. 4 feet of 60 flouro to the hook, attach mack then tie off to the top of swivel. Hold rod in hand this is crusial. When they hit its fast and you need to be too. I love circle hooks but I don't use them with this set up. You will miss most of the hits. Ron
