what is the local name ?

shiner's we used to call them in the charles river area
same name used for the baitfish, when i was growing up

you could catch them on bread dough
(skinnier than that)........... by the bucket full

not sure if the species i am talkin about
is now protected though

because i was thinking it would
make a good cut bait for stripers

Have to admit when I saw the title thread I thought the thread author would be Raider Ronnie and that it would be about Obama. I guess the "e" in morone should have tippped me off.

Cool pics.

I remember catching a butt load of them in lake zoar when i was a kid. Was LMB fishing with my dad and we werent hitting any, so i switched to a small grub jig and caught them 1 after another. Fun fish.
