How long after trout stocking do the fish start to bite? I think it was stocked on wednesday. I did see a heron take one yesterday. They were browns if that makes a difference.

I think they are actually tougher to get the longer they are in. Figure the hatcherys use nasty liver pellets to feed them, a worm or a shiny lure is probally pretty good looking to them. The Dad Fisherman 04-23-2011, 03:06 PM Pretty much immediately......There are guys that pretty much chase the trucks around Raven 04-23-2011, 03:51 PM they are definitely early morning and or early evening feeders and prefer to feed off the bottom specifically worms or power bait.... the other species will readily take a spotted brown rooster tail spinner gold blades on sunny days and silver blades (spoons) on rainy days... requiring many casts.... they smash the smallest rapala swimmer when trolling Sea of Atlas 04-23-2011, 04:59 PM I like fishing the browns at sundown. I have all kinds of smaller trout lures but usually end up with a small brass spoon like the Thomas rough rider or luhr jensen krocodile. I use a little lift fall action. Browns can definetly become educated and very difficult to catch. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
