Sorry Gilly ><><><

I launched the boat in 8in of water few days ago..., barely got the trailer wet while the truck was sinking in the muck,, all 4 wheels, no ramp, hidden launch....finally sat my azzs down and started paddling for deeper water.....kept hittin em' with the paddle(1).....was too zoned in on the fish, no crabs were sacrificed that day....

Don't suck too hard while eatting eme Mike...:devil2:

Trying to "Enjoy what I have",,, Mike.

At 2 yrs old, he's a chip off the ol' block...

Great day on the water with my little man...bluecrabs, sandcastles and mummie-choggin'.... Just make the time, and it'll all be fine.....:uhuh:

:uhuh:....seems to be a good push of em' in lots a places this year....not monsters, but still edible none-the-less. Haven't seen many "monster" blues...in quite a few years now ("Monster" to me, = 8+ inches /pt2pt). We always release females, regardless of state-laws. Tried teaching him "girl" crab from "boy" crab....but I may be asking too much at 2 yrs old....:wall: - - - - :jump1:

Also scored some "poor man's" shell-fish which was simply FANTASTIC!!!

Who can name it, without looking it up? Sorry, no prizes...."poor man", remember???...:alright:

Gilly ,
I know that the Portuguese have a name for them . lopish [sp]

We call them deckers

Years ago we found a market for them in N /B

Crest Daddy has it right!!!....SLIPPER SHELLS (right-fully named too, as they do resemble a "slipper".....although Clammer had both 'slang' terms spot on as well!!!...."deckers" and "Lapas" (pronounced "Lopish")

Crest Daddy, they're not only edible, but ....."poor man's" - Escargot is what I should have said! They're also delicious RAW!!! Pluck em out of the shell, rinse in the surf....and slurp it in.:buds:

Clammer, my father's been complaining about the $$$ of sandworms lately....he's been catching scup on slippers and winkles...
Free Bait? ... gotta luv us green-horns??? :devil2:
