BW GBOUTDOORS 05-09-2003, 06:59 AM the ones with lines missing are strippers not stripers:laughs: :laughs: :laughs: :smash: :smash: JohnR 05-09-2003, 07:13 AM I'm not positive but if I remember correctly, some fish from different areas can have a different number of lines, broken lines, and even a different amount of rays in the tail... This is common... Mike P 05-09-2003, 11:38 AM Genetics, probably. There was once a theory that straight lined bass were Chesapeake, and broken lined ones were Hudson, but I think it's been brought into question. Funny thing tho, while I can't remember every 30#+ I've ever caught, all of the ones over 40# had straight lines. KJLane 05-09-2003, 12:07 PM I've caught numerous fish over 30 lbs with both broken and intact the lines. The one fish I caught over 40 did have intact lines though I don't think it means anything. Skitterpop 05-09-2003, 03:04 PM Are broken Canadian or Maine bred? Tagger 05-09-2003, 03:23 PM I thought they were labratory fish...Bread in the ealry 80's when there wern't any fish....Maaannn..,, long nights then brother vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
