Broken line sides

Hello,

Who knows why some Bass have broken linesides and others are intact ?

I'm not positive but if I remember correctly, some fish from different areas can have a different number of lines, broken lines, and even a different amount of rays in the tail...

This is common...

Genetics, probably. There was once a theory that straight lined bass were Chesapeake, and broken lined ones were Hudson, but I think it's been brought into question.

Funny thing tho, while I can't remember every 30#+ I've ever caught, all of the ones over 40# had straight lines.

I've caught numerous fish over 30 lbs with both broken and intact the lines. The one fish I caught over 40 did have intact lines though I don't think it means anything.

I thought they were labratory fish...Bread in the ealry 80's when there wern't any fish....Maaannn..,, long nights then brother
