I love the "pass-the-buck" reply when they were confronted with the facts. The fact that the phones don't accept pre-paid calling cards, they don't have information displayed that reflect the costs of calls, and that a major carrier in the same country freely disclosed THEIR costs makes me wonder exactly who is profiting from these phone charges? Surely there has to be a money trail, and someone that WILL answer the inquiries, and not some stuffed shirt flunky that will act as a sacrificial goat for the media.

Sadly, this is nothing new. It cost money to make contact with anyone. My call from Europe was close to $60. I needed to coordinate a ride once I arrived in the states. It makes me sick to my stomach just remembering this stuff.
