Where can the wire be purchased that we use through-wiring our plugs? Also where or who has those nifty little aluminum units that the twists for through-wiring are made?

Usually welding shops sell it in straight pieces in bulk by the lb, a place like airgas carries it.

What chris said, also you can make a simple jig out of a few nails and a block of wood to bend your nose loops.

I got a wire bender from LI Lou a few years ago. Haven't used it much mainly I forgot how to use it. I'll bring to Plugfest and see if the Professor can make rhime or reason how it's done!!

Bring it, so simple. I prefer to make my own loops. I got benders for different size loops and one for darters too. I know some guys have asked me for benders but I just don't have the time right now. Less waste in bending your own so cheaper in long run. I get my wire from MSC. But if you don't want to bend your own than Mike's is the place.

Paul,
Can you post a picture of your wire bender? I've been looking for a new design.

Simple nose loop bend.
Take a pair of round nose pliers and bend a "U" in the wire. Make it so you have a tag end about 1 1/2 inches long. Now place the wire in a soft jaw vise so you have about 3/4 on an inch of U showing above the vise jaws. Now take the round nose pliers and bend the loop closed. The vise will hold the tag end and main wire and only bend the loop so you have exactly the nose loop you want. Adjust to suit.

$6.95 good deal. I made a similar one out of wood and nails. That one has many other uses being the versitility of the tool. Thanks for the post.

Try job lot or harbor tools. I have even seen them at flea markets.
