Not sure if it's a win for Everett or MA for that matter but they just awarded the eastern MA license to Steve Wynn for the casino.
Going to close the suffolk downs and put 1K people out of jobs.

I thought there is a Question on the state ballot this year to allow gaming tables, slots etc. So wouldn't that have to pass first before a casino is built?
IMO a casino/gambling adds nothing to the economy, produces zero income, all it does is move money around, usually into the hands of the uber wealthy.

If it does go forward it is difinitly a win for Mass., tax monies regardless if Wynn makes a profit or not.
Now it is up to the voters in November.

it's a huge construction project.....
everything done with casino's is way over the top
so initially it will create jobs .... to build it

Remember to ask Everett residents (if they still live there) after 5 years if the casino was worth it!
Then remember to have pictures of the surrounding neighborhoods around casinos in Atlantic City, Reno and Vegas ready for comparison.
Then laugh and say "At least it isn't in my city!"
I don't see any good coming from a casino in this state.
Hell, we already have our own fixed games in this state (Lottery), why do we need more???

Im against the casino in NPT. I live right 3 blocks away. Property values tend to plummit when a casino is buiilt near by.
Now Selfishly speaking. Im in construction sales and call on alot of contractors that will be bidding that casino in everett. Needless to say I hope its a go.
