Well, that same legal system did find Trump guilty on 34 felony convictions, found him liable for sexual assault (i.e. rape) with a 90m fine, found his business guilty of habitually manipulating property valuations to the tune of a 450m fine, his foundation guilty of fraud with a 30m fine, his non-university guilty of fraud, I’m forgetting probably a dozen more not to mention the rampant obstruction of justice, racketeering and election interference cases that 20+ of his insiders have gone to jail for.

If this is what the working class really voted for we’re doomed.

Some of THE hardest workers I’ve seen in the last decade are immigrants and I’m sure a large percentage of them are very concerned tonight. I’m sure (haha) there are an equal million of hard working white young US born people just ready to get right in there and pick your produce, roof your home, landscape your property, deliver your packages and take care of you on your night out or vacation.

That problem has been around for a long time, Trump didn’t fix it the first time around, killed a bill attempting serious reform and this time around will be an absolute sh*t show, with implications he frankly couldn’t care about.

I dont care who deports them. Trumps plan will far surpass anything Obama did. No amount of illegal is good for our country. I never said anything about amnesty, I was talking specifically about a guest worker program that recognizes ten percent (I’ve read) of our economy is driven by illegal immigrants. Codify it into law so immigrant workers don’t feel the need to fly under the radar. Problem now for instance is they’ll require people to register and check in then detain them when they do in good faith.

Do this to get currently illegal workers on the books then increase penalties for employers who don’t comply. Instead of insulting and mocking our neighbors work with them to address root causes as we can never militarize our border enough nor should we need to.

What looks to be the current plan sounds to me a lot like Iraq after 911, disrupt the status quo and democracy will flourish but in this case it’s a belief Americans will fill in those jobs. Both were/are fools errands. All Trump is going to do is cause suffering and potentially mutate who we are which is a nation of immigrants.

Two years ago my neighbor had three building reroofed by a Guatemalan crew, no idea if they were all here legally but they were fast, clean, professional and did top quality work. I also work with a number of people on H1b visas. It’s not just that US companies are better off with top talent, in a global economy tech companies are more effective when they can integrate rather than work country to country.

Not necessarily, being here illegally isn’t alone a crime. For it to be a crime a person would had to have been removed and then found to be back in the US. Remember about half of undocumented people have simply overstayed their visa.

As for taxes, I’d wager a lot of the undocumented folks you encounter in the trades are off the books when it comes to state and federal but not all undocumented immigrants are and they all pay other taxes to the tune of about $100 billion a year.

No, I’m saying I don’t find the modification to his sentence to be out of bounds considering all the relevant context. In the eyes of the law he’s still guilty of a double murder and many have done less time for the same crime.

It’s a lot more than a sophisticated search Paul. AI can identify non-explicit associations, self optimize and most dramatically generate output that semantic searches or even machine learning could never touch.

As you noted it’s not always right, often it’s errors are easy to spot and this limiting factor is good for humans. That being said, humans aren’t always right either and if AI can be 70% accurate but a million times faster you disrupt conventional workflows where a hierarchy thought process funnels decisions to the most experienced people thus reducing the need for less experienced labor.

We’re already well down this path.

What should really concern everyone, even Marsh, is how this technology is so ripe for misuse and abuse. In Gaza, we've already learned how Israel — being short on military targets — used AI to identify locations to strike with little human oversight. This appears to have been a big contributor to massive unessary civilian casualties.

With Trump eagerly taking his Sharpie to the US Constitution, I fully expect AI usage domestically to accelerate development of the fear based police state on our doorstep.

AI used for good may be a wonderful transformative thing to advance humanity, but when intentions are driven by greed, cruelty and a lust for power the impact on humanity could, no, will be freaking disastrous.

This happened after an "altercation took place between the suspect and the officer, which resulted in the officer firing his weapon and fatally wounding the suspect."

As for crying, I think you’re confusing this for genuine shock at the direction our country is heading. To be fair, many didn’t like elements of our direction for decades, I can appreciate that. But this is different, it’s no longer about democrats and republicans but rather about erosion of traditional American values that have allowed the country to flourish.

Columbia is a strategic US national security partner in South America and runs a trade deficit importing over a billion $ in corn alone from US farmers. It’s quite likely Colombia will now look to China as a more reliable trading partner.

And then there is you, the angry MAGA nut job, not making much sense, but throwing as much venom and insults as he possibly can at anyone having a civil discussion about what’s going on. I’d tell you what that proves about you, but I will leave the insults to you, you are certainly a professional at it.

A Seattle doctor whose medical license was suspended after she participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol was shot and killed after pointing a gun at two people delivering paperwork at her West Seattle home on Tuesday.

A 40-year-old man whom police have not identified shot Tamara Towers Parry, 57, multiple times in the torso outside her Southwest Hudson Street home around 1 p.m., according to the Seattle Police Department and the King County Medical Examiner’s Office. Police have not arrested anyone and are not looking for suspects, spokesperson Detective Brian Pritchard said Wednesday.

Members of Towers Parry’s family did not immediately respond to inquiries Wednesday.

Towers Parry, who was in the midst of eviction proceedings, came out of her house and pointed a shotgun at the two men before the 40-year-old, armed with a handgun, opened fire. In a phone call Wednesday, Pritchard said the men did not work in law enforcement and were not there to evict Towers, but he would not describe the paperwork they were delivering.

Tuesday’s shooting happened less than two weeks after Towers Parry’s home was foreclosed on and scheduled to be sold at a Sept. 20 auction, King County housing records show. Towers Parry had failed to make about $24,000 in mortgage payments and still owed more than $225,000 on the home, which she previously shared with her ex-husband, according to the records.

A photo taken of the house on Tuesday showed a large U.S. flag hanging from the home’s front window underneath the word “QAnon,” the name of a far-right conspiracy theory that gained traction online after the 2016 election of former President Donald Trump.

Because the federal government owns DCA and Dulles International Airport further into the Northern Virginia suburbs, Congress has the power to make operational changes.”
