Long weekend for some....ill be working today and happy knowing America is back. The indictments never amounted to anything...the American people saw through the lies and deception and voted accordingly.

Actually, the legal system is so corrupt, inept and fearful of retribution it sat on its hands and did nothing.
If you cant see that, you are in a cult.

Well, that same legal system did find Trump guilty on 34 felony convictions, found him liable for sexual assault (i.e. rape) with a 90m fine, found his business guilty of habitually manipulating property valuations to the tune of a 450m fine, his foundation guilty of fraud with a 30m fine, his non-university guilty of fraud, I’m forgetting probably a dozen more not to mention the rampant obstruction of justice, racketeering and election interference cases that 20+ of his insiders have gone to jail for.

If this is what the working class really voted for we’re doomed.

The will of the people endures. We saw through the bullshyte lies and have come together to reject all of it. God bless.

First time this country has put a convicted felon in the white house, what could possibly go wrong. Biggest con and largest grift has been pulled off, I have to give Trump credit, when it comes to white collar crime he is the master.

I would like to get a print of that list, or a thread to compare the economics in the coming months as an exercise without political content being added

You can make a list, ten minutes with your phone
GasBuddy
Hannaford
Home Depot
Lending Tree
Google

As far as a nonpolitical discussion of a politician’s promises, I doubt that will happen.

Some of THE hardest workers I’ve seen in the last decade are immigrants and I’m sure a large percentage of them are very concerned tonight. I’m sure (haha) there are an equal million of hard working white young US born people just ready to get right in there and pick your produce, roof your home, landscape your property, deliver your packages and take care of you on your night out or vacation.

And the proper process has always been to increase legal immigration but here we are 35 years later with that being ignored.

That problem has been around for a long time, Trump didn’t fix it the first time around, killed a bill attempting serious reform and this time around will be an absolute sh*t show, with implications he frankly couldn’t care about.

Some people have a problem with deporting illegal immigrant criminals. I do not. We have some people that have threatened or alluded to leaving the country if Trump was to get elected. I hope they will but i'm afraid they are just full of #^&#^&#^&#^&

The deportations begin soon and i support that 100%.

And who deported more illegal criminals than Trump? Obama did of course. We’ve always prioritized deporting criminals, this is nothing new.

As John alluded to the issue is we need immigration reform that also takes into account the large contribution immigrant workers contribute to our economy.

I dont care who deports them. Trumps plan will far surpass anything Obama did. No amount of illegal is good for our country. The illegals I know have no insurance, pay no taxes, broke the law coming here, created a housing shortage, drain our resources, and the work they do is shiddy at best. That outweighs what you call their contributions. Biden was in cognitive decline from day one in office and Kamala is not leadership material to say the least. Keep that avatar though ...she may run again in 2029...I hope. This is day 1....Trump has declared a national emergency...https://x.com/i/status/1881423409898508484

No - we had that - it was the Reagan era Amnesty.

We need a guest worker system - big difference with increase in the front door

I never said anything about amnesty, I was talking specifically about a guest worker program that recognizes ten percent (I’ve read) of our economy is driven by illegal immigrants. Codify it into law so immigrant workers don’t feel the need to fly under the radar. Problem now for instance is they’ll require people to register and check in then detain them when they do in good faith.

Do this to get currently illegal workers on the books then increase penalties for employers who don’t comply. Instead of insulting and mocking our neighbors work with them to address root causes as we can never militarize our border enough nor should we need to.

What looks to be the current plan sounds to me a lot like Iraq after 911, disrupt the status quo and democracy will flourish but in this case it’s a belief Americans will fill in those jobs. Both were/are fools errands. All Trump is going to do is cause suffering and potentially mutate who we are which is a nation of immigrants.

Two years ago my neighbor had three building reroofed by a Guatemalan crew, no idea if they were all here legally but they were fast, clean, professional and did top quality work. I also work with a number of people on H1b visas. It’s not just that US companies are better off with top talent, in a global economy tech companies are more effective when they can integrate rather than work country to country.

The can has been kicked down the road so many times it’s not an easy problem to solve, but a go it alone approach rooted in xenophobia and a LOT of misinformation simply isn’t going to make our country stronger.

But it’s ok to release convicted criminals from jail? What happened to the law and order party, people that beat, injured, attempted to kill police and even the VP don’t deserve pardons.

Illegal immigrants have suppressed wages for blue collar legal citizens of this country. Do you know what quality work is? I see their work every day and it sucks. They will confiscate any tools that are not locked down. They pay no taxes whatsoever dont have workers comp coverage no paid holidays , most of their money is sent back home, they dont love our country, they just use our system to subsidize their criminality. That all will come to an end thankfully. Maybe the elites will have to pay a little more for their roofs, aint that a crying shame.

I was citing one anecdote that just because it’s an immigrant crew doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. Many of the issues you mentioned can be mitigated by a guest worker program that’s above the table with employer enforcement, and yes, a lot of illegal workers today do pay taxes and receive no direct benefits.

Housing costs are already sky high and simply deporting people is only going to drive them higher, this isn’t a problem for just the elite, it’s really hurting first time home owners.

People who are here illegally, means they committed a crime, they are criminals. Pretty sure I have lots more knowledge of how they use the system than you. I live and work amongst them every day And please dont give me that crap that they are paying taxes...that is total BS.

People paying a million dollars for homes built like this. Their work sucks totally inferior workmanship. It costs more to do things right using skilled workers and not hackers.
