Hey Kenfish,
My suggestion is to check out CT outfitters in wethersfield on rte 99, they offer free seminars usually this time of year on striped bass and pike fishing the CT river. Capt. Blaine Anderson is the go to for good info, in the seminars he talks about baits, rigging, presentations, spots with aerial photos. Bissell bridge is a good area decent boat launch there too, rocky hill has a new ramp/parking lot off rte 9 just north of middletown area. The basic areas/structure that CT outfitters talks about are breaks in the major river currents, submerged walls, rock piles, sandbars etc, and the various coves on the river, salmon r. cove, wethersfield cove, and where other rivers feed into the CT R. Also, be on the lookout for where guys from shore are fishing bait, they know where the fish are. Good luck. -Matt
