I wade out into the water in my 350 dollar wetsuit.prior to casting my 1332 arra wit the 250 VS I grab one of my 35 dollar Habatats out of my 25 dollar bag.I don't think so.
Yes I am Van Stupid.
I have no wife or kids Heck this weekend the girlfriends not even talkin to me. pretty much all I do revovles around striped bass I make my own plugs an fish wit many that are one of a kind fish killers.I don't know how to sew so I spend maybe 60 dollars extra on a bag that will protect my wares.
To each their own.
It's not for me to say what is stupid.

Nibula You make awsome plugs we need to trade plugs btw.
Pete thanks for the pic. I got a ton of bags but my VS is my fav for walking the sand
I need new tubes in mine as they are old I should take a pic of it I beat the crap out of it and its over stuffed any way I like the vs bags not for the name but cause I think its a great product
its a good combo that bag and a aqua skin 3 tube belt bag thing
My aqua has torn off though
the VS bag does it have the pouch under the flap still?

Pete_G 08-14-2005 12:12 PM

Still has the pouch. Pretty much the only additions/changes are more tin and bucktail slots, a D ring, and more black webbing on the spots where if you REALLY tried, for years on end, to get the VS bag to fail, you MIGHT be able to which is on the bottom where rocks slowly wear through the fabric and also on the back where sometimes there would eventually be a touch of wear from rubbing on your wader belt. It doesn't have the plier slot anymore though, the pic on our website was given to us back when the bag was a prototype.

There seems to be a little more room around the tubes and the bag is definitely an inch or so taller.

Lastly, the bailed spin reel. I still haven't seen it although a final prototype should be visiting the shop for testing in a few weeks, but I have no idea about actual production reels. The proto has a date with BFT and then some swimming around off Newport, we'll see how it holds up...

Seeing Craig Van Staalmo in the pic is encouraging though; back in the Reel Ventures days he was probably the most important guy over there but everyone always seemed to mention Rick Hersom and the other guy. He's still the driving force behind a lot of the new stuff now, so I'm expecting a great final product.

Just picked up the large surf bag. Can't play with it until Xmas! :af: Took some pictures if interested. However, don't want post pics if not sponsor appropriate...?

That new bailed Van Staal supposedly has a manual closure/no snap-back bail like the Saltiga's, which I like much better than the bail-less VS.
