GBOUTDOORS 06-05-2002 05:47 PM

Had some work come up today that may need to be taken care of Sat pm so I may be out this time. Will try to finish early but it does not look good. Need to get it done before 6-14-02:D

Saltheart 06-05-2002 08:33 PM

mar t , You can fish any way you want. How you want to fish may determine who you will be team up with and where you fish. the teams are so you have people to go with. There is no team prize or team competition other than a friendly rivalry maybe.

TheSpecialist 06-05-2002 08:52 PM

GB you need an extra pair of hands? You gotta make it, lots of food, and fun.

JohnR 06-06-2002 07:39 AM

OK - stuff for Saturday =

Me - batch of 2doz Nathan's dogs & burgers + Da Bread
Scotch - 30-40 lbs of steamers and the pot/gas cooker (sure you can do that Scotch?)
S.i.M. - shrimp
Fishpart - 2 doz dogs & rolls
DZ - case of soda
tobias - chips & soda
Saltheart & Smokey - that Stawberry thing
Kippy - steaks
joeangler - paperware stuff
Red - potatoesalad
mar t - some food for the grille

Thanks for pitchin' in. About the only thing I think needed would be cheese & toppings for the regular grille fair. Any other thoughts?

Bill L 06-06-2002 08:52 AM

I'll bring a pot of clam chowder. What was the final word on the kick off time? (with the tides, I'll be digging the clams at about 11 am and will need to cook it up)
Bill

STEVE IN MASS 06-06-2002 08:53 AM

Did anybody do an actual head count yet?

Just to know how much to bring. I also have an abundance of radishes from the garden, so I'll bring some along, and also some lettuce from the garden for the burgers. Wish I could say garden tomatoes as well, but the plants are only about a foot tall.....;)

John - I got two "possibles" to add to the count from what we discussed yeaterday, so far.

Bill L 06-06-2002 08:57 AM

Ooops, saw cookout time as 3:00 pm in the teams thread
Nevermind

Saltheart 06-06-2002 10:04 AM

I'm figuring 2 dozen people. I think we'll have that many. In addition to the people listed , we want to feed Don and charlie. probably see Habs , his sone and Fisheye maybe. , Is Specialist coming? Anyway , I think planning on 2 dozen people is wise. We can always bring home leftovers

DRUMCORPFAN 06-06-2002 02:31 PM

I joined today 6-6-02 I would like to go sat. Just want to fish with people who love it as much as I do. I can bring some polish sausage to grill.;)

Saltheart 06-06-2002 02:34 PM

Welcome Drumcorpfan. We'll be glad to have you join us. See you at Weekapaug sat.

Just signed onto the forum/website not to long ago. I know that the tourney is starting this weekend but was wondering if it's too late to sign up.

respect,
Chris

JohnR 06-06-2002 03:27 PM

Wahlie & DCF - Welcome to S-B...

Haaawwww! Venison! Seeing that our normal "Provider of Dead Dear" is not making it this weekend (something about family obligatons) - sure :btu: , sounds good!

Just so everyone knows, the B-B-Q & the fishing is open to everyone that's signed up on these boards (plus significant other). If you get to C&R a sweet fish and you have less than the one week signup or less than 10 posts minimum of the tourney rules, it wouldn't count unless you were able to pursuade the other tourney participants :p to ease the rules a little...

wahlie 06-06-2002 03:45 PM

John,
thanks for the greeting... As far as fishing and such. I'll be with Toby... I'm not concerned about prizes and such as much as I am with meeting the guys of the board. I'll bring the sausage and possibly some steaks.. I've gotta see what I've got in the old freezer.
-Chris:laughs:

chris L 06-06-2002 04:36 PM

Scotch Bonnet 06-06-2002 09:14 PM

Put in the order for 40 lbs of steamers tonight. The real question is can we eat 40lbs clams?:hihi: Looking forward to meeting you all.

Jenn 06-06-2002 10:22 PM

bloocrab 06-07-2002 06:59 AM

...95% chance of making it

..if not in time for the B-B-Q....then definately in time for the Fish-E-Q :D

...I'll bring my digi-too...it may be helpful to try and have each team with at least one digi-fied member....;)

JohnR 06-07-2002 07:52 AM

MarT - no sense going out to Naps unless:

A.) You & your wife both have Korkers

B.) You both are happy climbing rocks

C.) You don't mind wearing 1220% DEET :D

Seriously, it's about a mile 1/4 on Beach sand to a rocky haven at the end that is not conducive to chunking. Although some do well chunking along the beach itself. The legal parking area is still a little walk from the beach.

There are other good spots to chunk from as well that are easier to get to.

Scotch - I don't know if we can eat 40#s

Sorry you can't make it Jenn

Scotch Bonnet 06-07-2002 05:15 PM

John, just put the clams in the cooler. I think I could eat a 10 lb bag!!! I'll control myself til tomorrow afternoon.

Scotch Bonnet 06-07-2002 07:41 PM

If anyone has a LARGE pot to boil steamers - please bring it. Pulled mine out of the garage and it was getting rusty on the inside. I will bring my 2 pots I use in the kitchen but would prefer a large one.

mar t 06-08-2002 06:26 AM

have pot

i have a big pot but no lid

joeangler 06-08-2002 08:22 AM

JohnR 06-08-2002 08:37 AM

Hey Joe - 3pm @ Weekapaug B&T, Westerly (but you know where that is)

STEVE IN MASS 06-08-2002 09:25 AM

Scotch - I'll throw my large pot in the car in case you need it....and it HAS a lid.....;)

Canalratt1 06-08-2002 01:54 PM
