Many moons ago I signed on to ebay, that day I had been talking to a friend about fishercats and picked it as my screen name. It was already taken and the program suggested bluefishercat. I had'nt surfished in many years and picked it not thinking of the possible alliance with the yellow eyed devils.

I must have been watching a Stallone movie when I signed up :hihi:

Blitzseeker 11-24-2007 07:29 AM

When I originally started checking out striped-bass sites right after John started this one, I was trying to come up with my screen name. One of the names of a guy who was (and I suspect still is) a successful fisherman who posted a fair bit, mostly on another site, was CowHunter. Since I was always looking for the next blitz, I changed Cow to Blitz and Hunter to Seeker and that was it.

Come to find later on that BigFish liked it...but in reality I kind of stole the idea to start with!

thortum 11-24-2007 08:19 AM

I'm a retired carpenter with sore thumbs!! :smash:

Bigcat 11-24-2007 08:32 AM

Got the handle almost 40 years ago, I was on a job running a 988 at the time that thing was a monster.
One of the guys started calling me bigcat, and the name stuck :)

Did you do the St.Vart's bazaar at Rhodes?

Really miss the Near East market on Resevoir Ave.There's another market in the area but can't think of the name of it or where its at.

Duke41 11-24-2007 09:02 AM

Got the nickname after a wild bar fight in college. My friends said I waded into it like John Wayne...the original "Duke". 41 was how old I was when I joined the site. I am 46 now. yikes!!

ProfessorM 11-24-2007 09:10 AM

Grew up fishing on the back beaches of Cape Cod. I rarely, if ever, fish out there any more though. Been thinking of changing my screen name to Rock Head.

Rappin Mikey 11-24-2007 11:15 AM

I couldn't figure out how to register as a member, so I asked my brother to do it for me. Rappin Mikey was the name he registered me with because I grabbed the microphone and started rappin at my first TFCTFN.:buds:

keeperreaper 11-24-2007 11:30 AM

A nickname a fishing buddy gave me when all I was "reaping" was "keepers" for a week straight. If it was 2 weeks later my name would have been "ISUK@FISHIN" since I went on the schnide for a few weeks and couldnt buy a keeper.

nightfighter 11-24-2007 11:48 AM

I got a reputation for pushing hard to gain an upper hand under the cover of darkness during previous lives in service and racing boats off shore. Dawn always promised to reveal the damage we had done while others slept, or let up. Hence the name. Of course, my night vision is not nearly what it once was.....nor is the amount of time I now spend fishing at night...

Swimmer 11-24-2007 11:48 AM

Getting dunked and falling off of boats is why!:uhuh:

Saltheart 11-24-2007 12:34 PM

Saltheart is the name of a character in the book series titled The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. Saltheart was a giant , named that because he had great love for the Sea.

Canalratt1 11-24-2007 01:26 PM

30+ years on the Ditch, many have tried to take on the name but I'm the first!

american spirit 11-24-2007 01:59 PM
