These guys I used to hang around with about 25-30 years ago now put in a sand volleyball court in their backyard. We would drink and play volleyball. It was great.I'm only 5'8" or maybe 5'9" tall but I could jump really well back then and so they started calling me Slammer. To this day that's my name around Falmouth and Mashpee.I think some people don't even know my name is Dave. And yes,Slingah,it comes out more like Slammah.

A nickname a fishing buddy gave me when all I was "reaping" was "keepers" for a week straight. If it was 2 weeks later my name would have been "ISUK@FISHIN" since I went on the schnide for a few weeks and couldnt buy a keeper.

I got a reputation for pushing hard to gain an upper hand under the cover of darkness during previous lives in service and racing boats off shore. Dawn always promised to reveal the damage we had done while others slept, or let up. Hence the name. Of course, my night vision is not nearly what it once was.....nor is the amount of time I now spend fishing at night...
