Wallace Pond

I'm pretty familiar with that area and can't figure out where your planning to access Wallace pond. What about Lilly pond. It's right on the tracks and can hold 6 or more cars if your organized.

Try this on for an explanation.

If anybody has any other questions, PM me. If not, see you there.

Just found out that Jess got me Pixies tix for that night, so I'll be running out of Gloucester just after we finish.

I'm really just going to see whoever shows up and have some fun.

Later,
Rick

Ice should be no problem....spent the day on one of the local ponds and there was a good 6-8 inches.....and it's just going to get added too looking at the temps the next week or so

Chris, I have adopted the "I never drink when I'm fishing rule." I learned it from watching you, dad.

Oh boy, I think I'm in trouble.

Any cheap & safe hotels up there for a kid & dog?

Is it a bad idea to bring a dog ice fishing?

The Dad Fisherman 01-08-2014 08:38 AM

Depends on the dog...:hee:

There are some hotels/motels along Atlantic road in Glostah that may be affordable off season. Anything along rte 128 from peabody on up would be convenient. Don't know about pet friendly on any of these though.

I don't know if I'm going to attend as I'm preparing/scouting for the rotary derby and plan on being in new hampshire, however, I've got a bunch of gear i can lend if you guy's want extra tip ups for the guy's that dont have any ( I have about 15 or so ready to go as well as a few jigging rods)I also have a hand auger I can lend.. as well as terminal tackle, leader material, hooks weights etc.... I can give the stuff Kevin ( TDF) ahead of time if you guy's like..

The Vista Motel is pet friendly. They only have efficiencies this time of year though. Might be more than you want to spend.

I normally send people to the Cape Ann Motor Inn, but I don't know if they're pet friendly.

Maybe PM spinn? He may have a better idea.

Rockport24 01-09-2014 10:26 AM

been away a while and haven't been tracking it, since you guys are local, I'm in!

here's another motel to check out John, not sure about pets though, but I know it's open year round

So, Kershaw is going to drill some holes on Thursday to check the thickness of the ice on the pond. He's guessing that there was a good 8 inches before Saturday.

I'll post if there are issues Thursday PM.

Hopefully there's not a problem. If I need to cancel, I can't book out, as I'm tied up all of February closing on the house (2/25).

I'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks,
Rick

Cancelling SABBIT Due to Ice

Hi Guys,
Scott was at the pond today.

Ice looks BAD! He was afraid to walk on it.

I'm cancelling the event.

Like I said, hopefully people didn't get stuck with rooms.

I'm going to be pretty much unavailable for the rest of the year.

PM me with any concerns.

Thanks and Sorry,
Rick

JackK 01-14-2014 05:41 PM

Sorry to hear. I will watch chebacco, if the ice looks good in the upcoming weeks I will try to organize a get together there.

Won't be the same without you!

I'm guessing things will be good the last weekend in January. I won't be around that weekend.

JohnR 01-15-2014 07:56 AM

3 weeks ago it looked the lakes would have have frozen all the fish - now ice out.

Good luck on the abode

mag minnow 01-15-2014 07:57 AM

Even the ice out by me is sketchy at best.
