Not all of them were 12".
Also note where he put the lip gaff :err: |
oh now I see what you were talking about, but it wouldn't fit in the holder the other way.:smash:
|
Sadly, I will be a Numby.
I caught the smallest sea robin on a diamond jig from Wood End light beach, where you can cast out to the deep water. http://www.fletcherfishing.org/wp-co...allestfish.jpg |

Back on track with what really matters, here is my submission for the Numbskull baby cow award:
14 inch bass landed on a Century SlingShot 1327 (2-5 ounce rating), VS250, 35 pound Fireline and 60 pound leader. :fishin: |

Latest standings:
TLAP- Leading the Numbskull division. JLH- Leading the grand prize division with a 46" fish, but Numby's big one looks awful close at 45" fork length. |

I named him fishstick

Attention Numby division contestants
Guys,
If you want to enter a Numby fish, please try to get a measurement. I ask this because it looks like we've got several fish submitted which are smaller than TLAP's leading fish, but no accurate measurements have been taken to confirm their size. This presents a problem in that we have no means of measuring one fish against another, thus I must recognize anything measured as the leading fish, even though guys may have captured smaller ones but didn't measure. Fair enough? |
fishstick was just shy of 13". penn 460 with 50#pp with 50 pound seagar flouro. rod was a st Croix 8'6"

Bummer now I have to go back out and freeze my arse off to get a smaller one. I should have had Numbskull drop me off on shore to get one as we bumped into several tiny fish blitz's that day. The things you think of after the fact.

MY teeny sea robin, I know, not a striper, was about 3.5" and was caught on a 27 diamond jig, using an 11 foot Ugly stick, Penn 7500 reel, with 40 lb test mono, and a 60 lb leader. I barely got it in. My smallest striper was way bigger than the dinks you guys caught.

New leader
Niko has taken over as the Numbskull division leader with a 13" fish...
The saga continues... |
just isn't fair as all the fish I have seen the past few days are too darn big. Heck the sea herring are 13". Maybe I need to bring a magic marker and stripe a sea herring.

who's your daddy?

From the 12th......... the am it snowed. Put a real effort in first for zilch, then hit an estuary with light tackle for this 24" fish. Great green color. Not sure it counts for a late fish but whatever. Probably I'm done.
|
snow on the ground and everything. Great pic.

always love the dog pics. i have a great pup, but I hope to one day have one that likes to fish :)

Caught a handful of bass to 14 pounds in SoCo over the weekend. Still a lot of small fish to be had in RI & CT but none quite small enough to regain the Numbskull award spot and none anywhere near big enough to knock out JLH from the big fish spot. Either way, I am happy to just still be catching and there is always tonight!
