Had a 'bright idea' to darken the back and leave the belly; the paint ran bit so I drilled out those eyes, sanded it and will try soemthing different...
next week sometime...

I made one that worked well for me last year so i figgured I'd try some more. I don't know if the picture shows it well but I dusted it with a rattle can of glitter before I epoxied it and it came out really cool.

Bumming out here Eben. Been working on table saw, chop saw, router, planer, joiner, drill press, but have yet to be able to wheel out the lathe:af: Work is getting in the way of progress. But it's good to have the work! I gonna be in chit if/when TDF, Luds48, Clogston, and Steelhead all make good on their threats to show up in the shop.

finally finished swap plugs took all my time.. want to get back into Floyd Romans have 2" ayc now .. and want slimmer prophile gibbs knockoff 2.5 darters.. and want to make a large variety of needles ...And jointed stuff and want to carve a fish like mac and cs and working on the secret weapon ,, why I never thought of it before .. why no one eles is doing it . i suspect some are and keeping it a secret..

Good luck on that front CS, I know tough that can be to do with my better half. Oh the grievous damage the toll of gravity takes.

This is my first shot at reproducing an oldie.. A jerry Sylvester flaptail. This was 'the plug' back in the 50's in narragansett.

tell her its like fine furniture... if it dont get oiled every few years it will split. :D

I just had 3 days in the basement. Time to come up for air.

I finally finished my mini swap plugs. I'll try to get them out tomorrow or the next day.

I've got a batch of slim dannies turned and drilled, and I took the heat gun to a dozen plugs that were either beat up or had epoxy probs, and stripped em back to bare wood to give them a second chance. kinda cool seeing teeth marks in the wood. I've gotta go thru all my bags and see how many other do-overs I have.

I spent the rest of the weekend working out the kinks on a protype, and I turned a batch of those today. ..:drool:

Steelhead.. I fish like a mad man all spring, summer and fall. Now is the time to turn :wiggle:
