wasn't really motiated to go offshore, and my friend i had with me gets sea sick if he can't see land. next weekend we're all over the sharks though. heard chatter on 69 someone was bringing in a 300# dressed mako. |
How did you catch the pollock?
|
with a sabiki q-d
|
them pollock are around all the time :)
when I go smelting you hear people bitch and moan about getting them instead of smelts. Me? I keep em and eat em! head-em, gut em, sizzle up some butter in a cast iron pan and fry em up!! I dont bother with any flour either! skin cooks off and just eat and eat and eat !!! been doin that since I was 8 |

To catch pollocks
That's what we use in France :
http://lecam.nicolas.free.fr/ragot_mitraillette.pdf a chain of 6 feathered hooks, one foot between, size 4, with red and yellow feather. If you can't buy it, make it ! Put a spoon at one end as a weight, works on fish too. Must be enough weighted not to drift to far away from tha boat (stay vertical and jig it). Hope this helps ! Olivier |
