Thoughts and prayers to his family.
It was Mr Bill on the SOL board. And he leaves a wife and two children...45 year old school teacher...
I will put up the first donation of some plugs and buy the first tickets if we should do a raffle or donation for his family. I just am not going to run it. |
what a terrible tragedy
Oh boy. That's a shame. Grim reminder to take an extra minute and familiarize yourself with your surroundings and be safe. My sympathy goes out to his family.

He was an ex-lifegaurd and was an experienced surfcaster. I could EASILY see how someone might have gotten disoriented while wading a sand bar and lost their bearing that night. |
.....Thoughts & Prayers....sad story
REST IN PEACE WILLIAM
man this is sad stuff....godbless :o
Sad to Hear
Thoughts and prayers to his family, especially the ones who lost their dad. I think of my young ones everytime I head out. I think I'll be wearing my inflatable more than I used to.
Thats awful, T&P for his family.
Mr Bill - you will be missed. Thoughts & Prayers for your family :(
I hate hearing these stories... but they do serve as a reminder that a good partner is perhaps the most important part of keeping yourself safe. I think of some the falls I have taken, or the times I have climbed out to some real treacherous perches alone.. it's really dangerous. So, Mr Bill, I will, as many of us will, think of you tonight when I teeter out to my rock of choice and do it with a little more caution than the last... T&P....:(
It's sad whan a family loses a parent, but at least he was doing something he loved. he will be missed, and may well serve as a reminder to the rest of us to still head out to the sea, but do so a bit more cautiously.
I can recall at least one occasion where I was glad to make it back to shore. |
Strange story- found him in 3ft of water...very terrible. Doubt we will ever know how it went down, but a good warning, things can go bad in no time at all out on the water
very sad indeed. my heart goes out to his family. as was said. at least it happened doing something he loved. who knows maybe he even caught that giant he was always casting for that night. we can only hope so.
to every one still here. let us all be safe, on our future trips. |
This is aweful news. Im sure we will all be a bit more careful.
awful ... thoughts of 10X10 when ever I hear of this . I don't know him or what happened but hits home with all of us when a surcaster passes in the surf ... T&P
