Oh my!What a fish!
Perhaps this should be the begining of another thread but I will pose the question here.
If you caught that fish in the surf and didn't have a massive heart attack when you turned on your light, and was able to land it.Would you keep it or release it?

Indeed it was Scott. 77 was pretty much at the beginning of the dramatic down turn in the population. From then until 90 or 91 we sucked wind trying to find fish in the surf. the boat guys still had some but the stocks were really depleted.

GonnaCatchABig1 10-09-2007 03:58 AM

woooooooooooooooow.

heres a good question.. how many time do you think that thing had been caught before? it's amazing to think all those schoolies we toss back have a chance at becoming that.

EricM 10-09-2007 04:51 AM

That thing is a monster...I wonder if that fish was traveling in the company of smaller fish or if it was in a school of similarly sized behemoths. Wow. That is some fish!

Flaptail 10-09-2007 06:05 AM

Wowza! Was it taken on one of yor lures Scott? If so way to go!

NIB 10-09-2007 06:09 AM

Thats a fish...Thats my holy grail right there.
If I could land that from the M surf I would hang my gear up..
No BS..
I'm gotta change my line..
Someone said it was in the top ten.I did not think that was right..

UserRemoved1 10-09-2007 07:42 AM

NO was NOT taken on one of mine Steve. Didn't say that I just posted it was caught.

I would send her back if I could revive it. What the heck would I do with a fish that size :usd: ? Even if I didn't have a camera :behead:

Brother Brian 10-09-2007 08:12 AM

EarnedStripes44 10-09-2007 08:48 AM

Would have been cool if it was. I'd hump that fish after landing it then have it mounted so I could just sit there and stare at it.
