Reel Cleanng in SE Mass/Canal Area
Can anyone reccomend anyone who cleans/tunes up reels?
I have a calcutta 400b that doesnt seem to be casting as well as it should that needs a little love. I know of bucko's, any other suggestions? |
I'm pretty sure Red Top in BuzzBay will do it. Might take awhile in-season though.

Red Top might do it, but Nelson will tell you they are not suppose to, not certifed by Shimano, at least they weren't a couple of years ago. That being said he took car of my 4000 a couple of years ago just after he told me they weren't supposed to.

I would sugest getting a schematic of reel take it apart on a towel clean it put back together you will gain confidance and it won't take more than an hour or 2
the drag is easy just reverse the way you took it apart , you'll need some small screwdrivers , stay calm , and after all you did it yourself ! LINK |
Sportsman's Outfitter Bait & Tackle in Berkley does a good job...Right down the street from you. It's basically a tackle store in a guy's garage, but he is a real good guy and has a good biz going. I just moved to Middleboro and have been bringing my spinner to him. No complaints so far.

I found a schematic... I think your right.. It would be worth learning on my own..
Regardless.. Im going to go check out Outfitters in Berkeley... didnt realize there was someone so close! Thanks for all the suggestions! |
