Tog

I figures I'd try deep today, 30 + ft , first stop, first three drops, three keepers, figures I hit the mother load :-)
Next drop hooks up , gets it half way up can't budge it,,, judging by the last 3 this one is Godzilla. The SOB takes off under the boat and num nuts me puts the heat on the line,,,, BING,,, all I gets back is braid, me thinks it severed at the leader,,,
First chance I get I'm going back looking for that guy... :-)

After that, that's right, all downhill,, :smash:

We're going tomorrow, shallow and light.

Got Stripers 10-15-2016 07:42 AM

I think the shallow bite will last a while with the warm weather coming in this coming week, which is good for me as I'm not paddling to some of my favorite reefs.

Guppy 10-15-2016 02:17 PM

Side scan is a big help
Cooked them last night recip from on the water,, like a paella,,, over the top good...

This is how i like to tog now. Super fun. 35' ft or less with light tackle and crab jigs.

Billybob 10-19-2016 06:17 AM

Yeah, it was a blast, we were fishing 10 - 20' a lot of shorts, but some nice keepers and bsb in the mix too. But albies were busting up all around us, and we finally couldn't take it anymore so we chased them for a few hours.
That was a blast too.
Gotta love October.

Rob Rockcrawler 10-23-2016 10:05 AM

I was fishin from shore yesterday in LIS close to rhode island. ME and a couple buddies brought home 6 fish up to 21" with a couple dozen shorts in the mix. Nothing deeper than 10'. Tog for dinner today!
