I had the unit mounted in a compartment in my dashboard under my hardtop, and never had any issues. The internal antenna model does not have a BNC connector for an external .

Well, I have transitioned from fishing to putting up the Christmas Lights. Thiss is a link to the light show at our house. We have 5000 lights up now, thanks to another trip to Wal-Mart.
