if youre just starting out ..you can build a lot of plugs with a hand drill and spray cans while you learn.

you probably will want a belt sander too.

you will need to find the right size...

DECOCOLOR opaque paint markers (made by uchida)
are two that I have used.

you can get the micron pens in a craft store

one problem that some have is getting the bucktail to lie flat. wrapping the thread too tight will make the bucktail crimp and not sit flat against the shank.

hold the bucktail against the hook...
