if youre just starting out ..you can build a lot of plugs with a hand drill and spray cans while you learn.

you probably will want a belt sander too.

you will need to find the right size drill bits for eyes, nose and tail grommets, through holes, the belly holes, etc. many prefer to use forstner bits where they can because they make a clean cut with no tearout.

if you havent used that lathe yet make sure you get the safety gear to protect you when you are turning.
