Like the old saying goes " A good deed never goes unpunished".
The easy thing to do would be to walk away and leave it. But being a good person someone takes it upon themselves to realize something was amiss and to take the time out of their life to try to get the gear back to the owner. From other accounts I have heard the gear was there unattended for over an hour but I digress that that is just what I have heard and I should not make any assumptions based upon hearsay. Unless you were one of the people actually involved everyone should stop jumping to their own conclusions based upon hearsay
chefchris401 should be commended for trying to do the right thing. Too bad the guy's cell phone was dead also as this might have sped things up
