The last few seasons the fish held up at the VA/NC line which is about 50-mile run. This year they have moved down to NC but 8-12 miles offshore. Many of us are watching the postings and listening at the docks on the locations. Bottom line is us legal fisherman have had 3 years of terrible striper fishing.

I don't want you to get the wrong idea there are many good fisherman here who do respect the laws, the problem imo is the Charters and Commercial fleet.

I fished down there and see whats going on... Sucks when the fish are just over the 3 mile line... Alot of boats go over, but there are still good fishermen, charter captains that stay inside and try to pound it out... I think most have been aware that the fish have stayed well over 3 miles this year, well over, and that is why this has been making so much press this year on all the boards. Inside has been lifeless... I remember chasing the fish on the beach there over a decade ago, from Duck to Hatteras... Times and Patterns have changed... It would be wrong for me to suggest that every single person fishing down there is breaking the law..... I had friends that pulled their boats back weeks ago, no sense since the fish are and have been outside...
