Block Island run off

I was wondering how the water is going to be there since all the rain and the run off turns the water a nice brown clay color, Does this last long and go away with the tides or is it something that stays around? and how does it affect the fishing?

It is usually a few days, as Nebe said. I was there once when it rained so much that the part of the cliffs came down overnight. I was very happy that I was not there when that happened. Even if it is muddy in one spot, there are so many other spots that won't be.
