thule castaway/vs 250
just wondering if anyone has a thule castaway with a vs 250
I heard the system will not close because the reel is too big

I have the thule but not the vs...closes fine on a 6500...
It's a good rack for one rod with reel - but thats it...two rods with reels are a pain in the butt...

I purchased one from Mad Dog last fall, he said it's fine with two rods and reels ... I believe Ray even mentioned he used a VS 300, but I could be mistaken.

to me, that is the most versatile size. And I had them all at one time or another.
