Waist Pack Cooler for Eels

Anybody have anything like this? Where can I get one? I'm getting tired of carrying my eels in an over the shoulder soft cooler. The strap always breaks and it's awkward having that with a plug bag.

I'm not ready to just put them in my pockets yet.

aquaskinz eel bag
put eels in individual ziplocs or sandwich bags...when you need one just grab the bag

you can get 8 in the mesh bag

Sounds like plan. I was concerned about keeping them alive but I guess if I puncture wholes in the bags for air and dunk them periodically they should be fine.

I use the aquaskinz bag, without the zip locs though and it works great. the zip locs are a great idea... much easy to grab one eel out of there thanks for the tip Jim.

I use a small six-pack cooler that I sling over my neck and shoulder that I got for $10 at CVS. I keep them in a mesh lingerie bag inside. It works great. I used to keep them on my belt but they would bang into my leg when I walked.

That's what I do - works great. The only problem is if you are deep wading the water pushes all of the air out of the bags & the eels can suffocate. Just open & reseal the bags every so often to put more air in them.

Just get a mesh laundry bag at CVS and put the in there. Just give them a dunk every once in awhile while your fishing and you should be all set

But be careful about leaving your bag of eels on the rocks at night ... especially on Cutty ... one night, for some reason - before I got my AZ eel bag -- I was tired of the bag slapping my leg, so I put them down for a minute or two while I fished.

When I turned around to grab another eel, the entire bag of eels was consumed by pincers ... it was freaky ... so I flung it in the water ... not sure what happened to them, but I moved down the coast a hundred yards or so ... it was skeavy ...

Oh Yeah, Make sure its the SMALL laundry bag.....not the jumbo that was slapping against someones leg.

Theres a size that is for socks and it is about 1 and a 1/2 times the size of the Aquaskinz eel bag. Works good
