My idea of a great fall night headed out fishing is a cool October Saturday night, driving to my favorite spot, the moon is between 1/2 and 3/4 full and the sky is cloudless and star filled, I have Sinatra Saturday Night on the radio, the air is crisp and the wind barely noticeable at about 5 mph......the water when I get there has a gentle roll as the tide is almost low. Swimmers are on the menu.....3 oz. Danny's and "Prey" swimmers.......the fish are in tight and smashing the slowly moving swimmers as the tide turns to rise, clobbering them so hard you can see the water erupt 75 yards out! I have a few more of these nights coming......hopefully they play out pretty much as I describe......the memories will warm me through the coming winter!
What is your ideal fall night out?
