Nice fish yes.
But long dead. I mean, the guy's not even wet!
Probably caught wetsuiting (hopefully not caught from a boat)...
Typical promo shot.
Do you work for them?

Like most promo shots, the fish is dead and eyes are cloudy.
Have to love the promo company shots that are staged, or fish was caught on xyz plug but in reality an eel, or the fish caught in mass and the pics taken in rhody.
Happens all the time.
We had a good chat about this subject on cutty, one night on the porch.

Also, it's a very irresponsible shot to put out there for the surfcasting public to feast upon... the guy's fishing the surf (supposedly) in waders without a top... if he takes a spill, he's swamped... if he falls into an inlet--he's likely dead.
I'm not usually one to cut these things up, but THAT part really has to be said.
It's no different than showing a guy in a kayak with no PFD.
Am I wrong?

Looks like he's on solid ground. I fish in less than that all the time, from more precarious places. Maybe I/we shouldn't, but its standard practice I think.
Fish is definately dead (for a while). Typical. Just need to learn to ignore this stuff. Just to put it out there, those darters suck (unless the two I checked out were just total duds).

I can't see how a plastic molded plug could be a dud? Never had a bad ss plug before.
I tried the TA stuff, didn't care for it either. Love the clips though.

If you fish without a dry top or belted off you are asking for trouble. I took a dunking on the Block 2 weeks ago tomorrow and if I wasn't belted off I wouldn't be writing this.

Typical promo shot like others mention.
The left eye on my Tactical Angler sub darter came right off one night when I was fishing. Wasn't a happy camper, I paid 20.00 plus tax.

agreed. just added the comment about possiblity of being a dud as a disclaimer that I do not have alot of experience with them. watched the promo video that they put out at one point and wasn't impressed by that either.

TA darters - can't get them to dive and dig too well - maybe 1 out of 3 casts. Never had an SS darter dud. Have had plenty of Gibbs' darter duds where I haven't bought one for 5 years plus. Fagettabout it - (D Brasco just ended.)
Love TA clips.

Right! I don't know. If you know the stories you know the stories it is what it is. Plug business is cutthroat And tough. Those that do well in it continuously work on their product. Word-of-mouth is more important than any promo shot. Some continue to produce year after year. The rest get weeded out over time. It is one hell of a fish regardless of what it was caught on.

Does your incessant whining make you feel better? How about you just shut the hell up and suck it up? It's a fishing forum , so please just stop.

The fish itself is a great fish, cant deny that.
My gripe is that some of the promo photos that are used by companies, are staged, and the fish is clearly dead, cloudy eyes, curved tail, flat fins, fish was caught somewhere else and photographed elsewhere, caught on one plug or an eel and taken with a pic of another plug, waders/wetsuit dry, all the company logos showing just right, or the pic is taken in the middle of the day.
Im not knocking the fish or the guy who caught it, or crazy al, just wish the pics companies use real world shots, but that doesnt make for great promo/cover stuff.

I'm sensitive to this stuff... perhaps to a fault, because I used to get pounded for not watching out for this kind of stuff at my previous job.

I wouldn't worry about a PFD for that one.
Back on subject. I agree even though the individual is standing on solid ground a top should be worn when in waders. I always wear a belt top not always. Probably should
