Also, it's a very irresponsible shot to put out there for the surfcasting public to feast upon... the guy's fishing the surf (supposedly) in waders without a top... if he takes a spill, he's swamped... if he falls into an inlet--he's likely dead.
I'm not usually one to cut these things up, but THAT part really has to be said.
It's no different than showing a guy in a kayak with no PFD.
Am I wrong?

Looks like he's on solid ground. I fish in less than that all the time, from more precarious places. Maybe I/we shouldn't, but its standard practice I think.
Fish is definately dead (for a while). Typical. Just need to learn to ignore this stuff. Just to put it out there, those darters suck (unless the two I checked out were just total duds).

I can't see how a plastic molded plug could be a dud? Never had a bad ss plug before.
I tried the TA stuff, didn't care for it either. Love the clips though.

agreed. just added the comment about possiblity of being a dud as a disclaimer that I do not have alot of experience with them. watched the promo video that they put out at one point and wasn't impressed by that either.

The fish itself is a great fish, cant deny that.
My gripe is that some of the promo photos that are used by companies, are staged, and the fish is clearly dead, cloudy eyes, curved tail, flat fins, fish was caught somewhere else and photographed elsewhere, caught on one plug or an eel and taken with a pic of another plug, waders/wetsuit dry, all the company logos showing just right, or the pic is taken in the middle of the day.
Im not knocking the fish or the guy who caught it, or crazy al, just wish the pics companies use real world shots, but that doesnt make for great promo/cover stuff.

I'm sensitive to this stuff... perhaps to a fault, because I used to get pounded for not watching out for this kind of stuff at my previous job.
^^^ and Chris, I agree with everything you said
