antique reel
anybody know how much this is worth?
says J. Conroy on the side , then under that it says Maker. so im guessing, j conroy was the maker. thats all i know.

I am thinking an Abu 6500 is worlds different than that antique!
Pretty sweet looking collectible Christian, where did you get it? It looks to be brass?
I don't think it is worth anything in my professional opinion  I think you should send it to me immediately for further analysis!

my dad found it in an old barn his grandmother had, its just been sitting on a shelf in my room.
maybe i can ebay it and turn it into a van stall

google j conroy reel, theres some information there. I found this
A J. Conroy brass ball handle reel in VG sold for $405.
not to bad.

If that is a Ball Handle 3 made by Thomas J Conroy (New York) it could have a value in the 3-400 range. This came out the 6th edition Old Fishing Lures and Tackle by Carl F. Luckey

Did a little more digging and found out that it was probably made in or around 1840. 160 something years old.... could be worth more than listed above

Ill give you all of my habs plugs ( poppers and needles ) for that reel
keep it and enjoy thinking of the fun it had . I wouldnt fish it but thats just me .
