Bird ID????
Anyone know what kind of bird this little guy is???

It could be a juvenile loon. That would be my guess.

based on what i can see
and i can't see the feet,,,,its called "Brunnichs Murre" and the plumage is turning from winter to summer... from the family Alcidae also called
Alcids. A duck like sea bird with stubby necks ...having a buzzy flight and straddle legged look in flight. the identifying marks are the white stripe behind its beak.... and the plumage change on its neck. thats my guess

I'd say it's a Thick-Billed Murre. They winter at sea off the NE coast and could have likely been blown onshore during the gale last week.

Thanks, taking it for a ride to the bird rehab. Saw it last night, then again this early AM. It was at the tide line getting tossed aropund the rocks.

rehab=stock pot  , its leg is all gimped up, and was bleeding. You can see in the picture
