I wonder how that hydrophillic coated fabric stands up to the salt? If it's anything like Gore-tex I would suspect not very long. Looks good though.

Are you saying that Gore-Tex doesn't stand up to salt water? I've been considering getting a new foul weather jacket and wonder if a Gore-Tex one is good or as you suggest, that it doesn't stand up to the salt. Curious . . . |

"Water-resistant front zip" hmmm....don't think "resistant" is going to cut it. That zipper is a source for water to get you wet and cold.
