Changing of the guard
I will no longer be writing the Outer Cape Insiders report for OTW. A new person will be doing come next April. I had fun but one can only write things like that before it gets stale.
I had fun and hope I helped in some small way.
I can now concentrate on feature articles with more time for in depth research.
Thanks to all who took time to check it out each month!

Well, your insight and thoughts each month have been enlightening, informative, and entertaining. Your monthly input will be missed. I'm sure your successor will be good too, but I'll miss reading your reports. You added very good style to the Insiders Reports section.
Thanks for your years of service, and I'll look forward to your feature articles.

Your a good pen Flap. Your correct about getting stale. You could take your whole year of reports and just repeat them.....and they would again be true....just like every year after year. A change every year or so with report writers is really necessary.

Have not read the magizine in a while, but you always put out a good read. Change is good, and good for you... time to broaden the horizons with your prose, even as you continue there as a feature writer.. other oppurtunities are out there.. just like fishing.. persue all venues..
Good luck to the new fellow.... and I hope he is as truthfull, and cautious in his reports, as you were....and Thank You for that!
Now.. don't go the way of your predecessor.. ...

With your daughter attending school up this way, maybe a little time to scan through Fulton's reports for a few trips next spring?

Thanks for all the great insight. Like others I have not fished the outer cape (yet) but still always enjoyed the report and tried to gather some hints for the home field.

Steve,
I have an "Insiders" deep deep respect for both your writing style and the honesty that shines through that style. This news is bittersweet as I will miss your column but can also understand after writing my own column for only one season how one can only write so much about a limited area and keep the columns fresh.

Your article was the first i read, every issue. Thanks for all the help, and like Karl F wrote, thanks for your honest style of writing, and your first hand accounts of fishing the backside. Your monthly articles will be missed. Thanks again.

Jenn, the mysticism will be more profound and I dedicate my first feature of the new year to you! It's a tale of a famous old time surfman who is my hero and who knew the beach more intimately than any other I know, someone who was driven to fish and who was an eccentric who savored star lit skies, the open beach and fished mostly alone and set a standard that all who came after him and tried to emulate him could never achieve. He was the best at what he did and set the bar that no one has since been able to achieve. A cold winter nights read that hopefully will draw you back to the place you love so well and will set the dreams of all of us who love it so much as we settle in for that "long winter's nap".

Steve,
Your contribution helped make the magazine the popular read that it is today. I'm sure your feature articles will be equally well received.
Best wishes,
Mike
