Its March Dammit!
March 1st for me is the light at the end of the winter tunnel! Yesterday and today were good indications that Spring is just around the bend! Heard some birds singing yesterday and today....don't know what they were but they only come out when Spring is nigh! Time to start cleaning the gear and such.....mid-April will be upon you before you know it!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I have all my gear cleaned, repaired, new drag washers , all rods ready boat & shore, a ton of jigs tied up and ready to loose. waiting for my shipment of mono form FLA.
Gonna make some rod holders for trolling out of PVC who needs stainless, I'm not into flash but something that works, plus it's it's alot CHEAPER.
If the ice is out of my holdover spots I'll be all over them by sunday someone has to wake them up.

On rt. 6A in Barnstable the crocuses and snow drops are in bloom along some of the rock walls. That's a sure sign and the light and shadows are different, they have that spring feel. It's started.

Why even try.........

Dont look outside today. It looks a little white to me to be spring yet. But I love the positive thinking.

Well John, sorry but you can keep the snow and cold!!!!
I just thought that for the winter you holed up in your little shop and made thousands and thousands of plugs for all the little boys and girls. Now I know the truth - you ski your arse off!!!

My brother and I hunted in Vt. during 60's & 70's. Beautiful state. Great memories. Don't think I'd want to live there in winter. Too much wood chopping and shoveling for me!

Daylight savings time is NEXT Sunday (the 11th).
If that alone doesn't get your thoughts turning to surf and stripers, I don't know what else will.
