What do you look for before going out?

I look at tide times and wind direction/speed.
Tide times because to me certain spots from my own experiences produces better at certain tide stages. Wind, because I prefer the wind to my back more so than in my face. The moon phase doesnt really bother me much being that i've been skunked and landed fish in all phases of the moon. What else do others look for? Barometric pressure rising/dropping? Tide heights? Water clarity? Moon phase? What are your thoughts?

I look to see if my wife is wearing lingerie or flanel PJ's, that's the deciding factor whether I go or not.

Seriously, wind and tide are the keys to when and where I go.

tide, wind, cloud cover.... presence of idling teenagers with brown-paper-bagged beverages.

Me too, I scan the web looking for online fishing reports and spot burning threads. Once I acquire some information, I check the parking areas at the mentioned locations for other fishermen so I can ask them exactly what is going on when and with what. If my spot chasing turns out slow, hopefully someone will call me on the cell phone and put me right on the fish, no questions asked. Only then will I remove the rods from my roof and begin casting.

It's the fishing hole

Not much.I go when I can.

Under ideal conditions(for me) I look for tide times/heights,wind speed and direction.Time of day.I do consider moon phase but like you have done well and not so well under all phases.

For most spots I just look at the wind and time.... other spots the tide has more of an impact

wind and tide, sometimes I let it tell me where I can't go but most of the time I fish the same spots regardless of tide or wind .I just go when I can and fish.
