Words Of Wisdom From someone who Knows!

While he may not be a member of this site , Jim White is in the technology age and reads what goes on Often...He just sent me this email and told me to post it...It speaks for itself..

"Billy:

I've been on the bay since I've been 5-years old with my father and grandfather. I've fished commercially with a rod and reel, run lobster pots, dug clams and quhougs and run a full time charter business for 18-years I've also mated for some of the best captains in Pt Judith and Snug Harbor. I remember when cod and pollock could be caught in the bay, let alone, striped bass.
In all that time I've seen many come and many more go. There is always someone who wants to be the first on the block for doing something when it comes to fishing. Someone discovered the perfect spot, the perfect bait, the perfect lure, the perfect techniuque and on and on. Time measured in hours and minutes has a different meaning than when I went to school. It used to take 365 days to make a year, and 10-years to make a decade. In today's world, you fish for five or six years, and that's equivilant to forty or fifty years. Hell, there's one captain now who's got 25 years of all of types of fishing experience and is only 29-years old. That must be some kind of new math where you combine algebra and calculous to get the figure you want. The stuff that comes up on that site is amazing, going so low as to pick on a guys wife acussing her of being a stripper because they don't like him. I've always wondered how so many people who claim to hate the man have seen his show and knows what he does.
If I spent the time arguing about how many boats I see fishing in areas that I fish, I'd probably never catch another fish in my life. There wouldn't be any time left to fish. Fish also do this strange this called swimming. They also don't conform to what any human believes they should be comforming to.
There are at least 20 or more areas in the bay where you can fish each one for 10 or 15 minutes and move to the next and catch almost the same tide if you know where to go and how to make the right moves. if there are boats in spot 1, 2, or 3, you simply go to number 4, 5, or 6. if you don't know that, then you don't have enough time (years) on the water to begin with.
What amazes me is, the spot in question on the video didn't produce one single fish nor even a hit that day. if I were looking for somewhere to go, that would surely be the first on my list where two guys caught nothing. Makes perfect sense to me.
This is one of the reasons I don't get on these sites. More bull than content."
