Where's Chuck??? Derby '09

I’m back from the edge. Where’s Chuck, you ask? Passed out in his truck on Menemsha. Two days on three hours sleep finally got the best of me. Casey and Kacie I’m so happy you both landed albies on your last morning, way to go!!! This was my first Derby trip and my first real foray in the surf. To say it was a baptism by fire is an understatement, this is a hardcore group, but I learned more in those few days….well, mostly nights than I have in my last 10 years fishing. Standing on an offshore boulder with Rick my first night with wind, rain and breaking surf was not exactly what I expected but what a RUSH!! Rick landed a fish that night that put him on the board. Glad I was there to see it. And Rick, thanks for getting me off that damn boulder!!! I think the hook is definitely set in me and I’ll be back next year for sure, come high wind or rough water. I can’t thank Casey, Kacie, Steve, Paul, Warren, John, Jim and especially Rick enough for including me, sharing their vast knowledge and showing great patience with the new guy. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Chuck, "Lost on Menemsha"
