Thoughts & a bunch of prayers sent your way.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

one more word of encouragement from a NICU vet...we did 6 weeks with our oldest who was due on Valentines Day but chose Christmas Day and as frantic and stressful as it all is, especially when it's your first one, it is a tremendous experience, the folks that provide the care are remarkable and my pediatrician always reminds me that the preemies soar once they get their feet on the ground, plus.. you get great new parent training from experts for a few weeks...God Bless, hope you all get home as soon as possible.......

Prayers and thoughts for your family and son.

They perform miracles in the NICU.
My twin Grandsons were born 3 months early, 1.9 lbs and 2.1 lbs and spent 3 months in the NICU.
They were only given a 1 in 2500 chance that both would make it.
They are 2 now, weight #30, strong as oxes and you can't hold them down.

Hang in there and let us know when he comes home.

Thank You All

Still at BW since Tuesday. Just wanted to thank everyone for your thoughts, prayers and advice. Dennis Patrick is here in the NICU still and will be here for a little while. I am hoping for a week or two, until he gets his lungs up to standard. Meds, machines, beepers and all this stuff they got him hooked up to scares the hell out of both me and my wife. The NICU staff here is incredible. I cannot say enough good things about these people. 5 minutes in a NICU is enough to make me shut up and stop feeling sorry for myself and relize how bad some other people have it. Any way, thanks everyone.

You are a parent, you no longer have the luxury of feeling sorry for yourself, you further need to look over your shoulder before doing an Al Bundy scratch, and you will have a new affinity for the night shift. But you will be amazed, astounded, and humbled as you watch your offspring grow . You will cherish the father son fart jokes. You will play good cop and bad cop. There will be good and there will be bad. May you enjoy much more of the good.

Dennis Patrick, welcome to the New World

Thank you

Still here @ BW. The little guy is making strides. Some not so big, but all in the right direction. Wife has some high BP issues causing a steady very bad headache, more or less confining her to bed, so she is still here as well. I just wanted to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and encouragement over the last week or so. For the longest time my wife would shake her head and giggle when she would see me log into SB.com even though she knows I love to fish. When I showed her the T and P the other day you guy's and girl's made quite an impression. Any way thanks to one and all. Dennis

There is nothing harder than to see those you love in need but be unable to help. That there are others who can and do help is mankind's greatest strength. We need each other far more than we usually realize. It is good to hear your son is making progress and I hope he and your wife are home soon.
