Following your gut

If there are words to live by, its always follow your gut, always.
I had been interviewing for a number of jobs early last year, luckiliy I was not out of work, just looking for a new challenge. On one job, it looked good on paper, but after the interview decided it wasnt for me. I sent an email to the hiring manager and the HR person, told them I wasnt interested. They called me a few months later and was suprised I wasnt interested. I told them my concerns and they laughed, they said I was way off. Asked me to come back in and talk to the other people about my concerns. So against my gut feeling, I did. Interviews went well.
I ended up taking the job and you know what? ITS EXACTLY what i told them I didnt want! Exactly what the said it wasnt but I knew it was! WTF ! Its like i was deliberately lied to. I was interviewing so much before with a number of jobs, I have no energy to start all over and plus my resume would have that I was only in this job for a few months. F

I agree - start looking for a new job. It's going to start taking many months to find a job. Good luck!

That sucks, Jimmy. Any way you can go back to the office in RI?

Interviews go both ways...I can't tell you the number of people I've met who feel they've been misled in job interviews.

I've had to explain just that to potential employers. I get a look of stunned disbelief. It also changes their attitude and your position. They realize that you are no longer there with your hat in your hands...you may have something of value to them and know it.

You get one shot a life on this planet, don’t make yourself miserable in a job you hate. A little time now will be worth it in the end.

Plus, your resume is pretty much up to date. That is half the battle.
